Editorial Review Board
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Before publication, ContractorsFinder guides are checked against our Review Methodology By a reviewer separate from the person who drafted the piece. This page introduces that review function and is a template awaiting the site owner's real reviewer profiles.

What a review checks
- Whether cost ranges and figures are labeled as estimates and sourced or explained rather than presented as guaranteed prices
- Whether safety-relevant claims (electrical, gas, structural, and similar) are accurate and appropriately cautious
- Whether the guide clearly distinguishes DIY-appropriate tasks from tasks that should go to a licensed professional
- Whether claims about licensing or permitting are flagged as varying by state, with a link to our State Licensing Disclaimer
- Whether language and formatting meet our internal Editorial Standards
What review does not mean
Editorial review checks a guide's clarity, structure, and general accuracy against publicly available information. It is not equivalent to a professional engineering review, a code inspection, or a legal opinion, and it does not replace advice from a licensed professional for your specific project and jurisdiction.
Independence from advertisers
Reviewers evaluate content on accuracy and clarity only. Whether a contractor advertises with or pays ContractorsFinder for lead matching has no bearing on editorial review decisions, which are handled by a separate part of the organization from sales and contractor accounts.
